No we haven’t set a date yet

Ok, so you probably all know my (our) news by now, (its like two weeks old) so I’ll just fill you in on my birthday weekend. As it’s the last of my twenties, when James asked what I wanted to do for my birthday I said – something silly.  So that’s what we did.  Friday dawned and saw me opening pressies in bed – just like Christmas except James and Anna were their instead of family.

Deciding it was too near lunch for breakfast we headed out for the day, with dreams of shopping and fun in our heads.  Not all went to plan, the shopping mall was ok – if you were 70 plus and I’m not quite there yet.  But we had a nice meal and decided to try our hand at the stately home next door.

This was a much better plan (cheers Anna) we just paid to get in the grounds, but we didn’t look round them, we knew exactly where we wanted to go – the adventure playground.  Where children under 16 MUST be accompanied, meaning everyone else doesn’t!

Ok so our bums were a little snug on the slides, but with rope bridges and trampolines scary cockerels and zip wires we had a good laugh, my highlight is either James getting stuck on the helter skelter, or Anna trying to get down a cargo net.

The evening saw James and I out for a nice romantic meal – I ate too much as always – and then a walk / scramble on the beach, after which it’s fair to say I’m off the market and sporting a nice ring.

But the fun didn’t stop there; Saturday saw my big pressie – Zorbing, man it was so much fun, rolling down the hillside in a giant hamster ball with James and a tonne of water inside.  I would recommend it to anyone – even my mum.  You just laugh all the way down, you can try and walk it but someone generally falls over and takes you with them!

A meal with Luke and Lucy was a pleasant way to start the evening, the champagne and congratulations flying around later rounded the weekend off nicely. Two weeks on and the grin is still pretty much on my face!
